How It Works

One week to launch. Then the engine runs.

The whole process, honestly timed — including the parts that take months, because the ones that do not are usually the ones that do not last.

How long does contractor SEO take to work?

A contractor SEO engagement typically launches in one week and produces its first measurable wins in 30 to 60 days, with durable map-pack position and predictable lead flow arriving between months four and six. Google Business Profile and review improvements move fastest; organic rankings for competitive service terms take longest.

The Timeline

Every step, start to steady state.

01Day 0

You send us your website

Use the audit form or just call. We need your site URL and the city you serve — nothing else to get started.

02Within 24 hours

The audit lands in your inbox

A 12-page PDF: technical score with the exact failures listed, Google Business Profile completeness, who currently holds your map pack and why, review position against them, and whether AI assistants can read your business at all. No call required to receive it.

03Day 1–2

Discovery call

Thirty minutes on video. We walk the audit, look at the competitors beating you, and get honest about whether this is worth doing for your market. If the numbers do not justify it, we will tell you.

04Day 2–3

Agreement and access

A fixed-price proposal — no hourly surprises. Then we need manager access to your Google Business Profile, your domain registrar, and analytics. That is the extent of your homework.

05Day 3–5

The build

Your site gets built on our stack: schema, Core Web Vitals, service-area pages and lead capture in from the start. You review it before anything goes live.

06Day 5–7

Launch and instrumentation

DNS cutover with no downtime, GA4 and Search Console connected, conversion events on every form, call tracking enabled on the Business Profile, and the profile rebuild published.

07Week 2 onward

The engine runs

Weekly profile posts. Review requests on every completed job, replies drafted within a day. New service and project pages published on a steady cadence. Citations monitored for drift.

08Day 30–60

First movement

Profile and review wins usually show here. Map position starts shifting. The first monthly report shows tracked leads against what you have paid.

09Month 4–6

Durable position

This is where map-pack position stabilises and lead flow becomes predictable. Anyone promising this in month one is selling ad spend.

10Every month

The report

One page. Leads, calls, map position, AI citations, ROI against the retainer. Plain English, and honest when a month is flat.

What We Need From You

Your side of the work is small — but it is not zero.

Access, once

Manager access to your Google Business Profile, your domain registrar, and analytics if you have it. Revocable any time, no passwords shared.

Photos, ongoing

Real job photos beat anything we could write or generate. Fifteen to start, then a handful a month. This is the single highest-leverage thing you can give us.

Job details, occasionally

A sentence or two about interesting completed jobs — the town, the problem, what it took. That is the raw material for project pages, which outperform generic city pages by a wide margin.

FAQ

Questions about the process.

How much of my time does this take?

Roughly two hours in the first week — the discovery call, granting access, and reviewing the site before launch. After that, about fifteen minutes a month unless you want more. The one ongoing thing we need from you is job photos and the occasional detail about a completed job, because real photos and real projects outperform everything else we could write.

Will my website go down during the switch?

No. The new site is built and fully tested on a staging URL first. The DNS cutover is a single change once you have approved it, and we stage it so there is no gap. Your email is untouched.

What if I already have a website I like?

Then we may not rebuild it. We audit it first — if it is fast, structurally sound and converting, we optimize in place and you skip the build fee entirely. We will only recommend a rebuild if the audit shows the current site is the thing holding you back.

Do you need my Google account password?

Never. You add us as a manager on your Google Business Profile, which you can revoke in two clicks at any time. Same for analytics. We never ask for a password to anything.

What happens in month one specifically?

Site build and launch, Google Business Profile rebuild including category tuning, full tracking installation, review engine set up on your job flow, and the first batch of service pages. Month one is the heaviest lift on our side and the lightest on yours.
